Meet our new contributing editor Anna Britton!

We are over the moon to welcome Anna and her fresh perspective to Eye Flash Poetry.  Anna has always loved creating worlds and characters in her head and poetry came to her later in life, when she was studying English Literature at St Mary’s University. You can read one of Anna’s poems in issue four of Eye Flash.

Anna works for the Isle of Wight library service as a senior library assistant and spends her free time buried in words.  She writes mainly for young adults but dabbles in adult fiction as well, the weirder the better. She has been writing seriously for about five years and runs her own critique service for other fiction writers. More importantly, Anna has an amazing Labrador called Odie, who keeps her company during those lonely writing hours, and she often has cake.

Anna can’t wait to get stuck into Eye Flash Poetry, and you will be seeing more of her writing on the site and on our social media feeds. Anna lists Kate Tempest, Rupi Kaur, Carol Ann Duffy, and Andrew McMillan as her poetry faves. When reading through submissions, Anna is looking for poetry that doesn’t mince words, that hits the reader hard in the gut, and that speaks about something real.
